Boosting Immunity

If you feel you might be catching something or if last night’s hectic schedule is catching up with you, instead of heading to the medicine cabinet, consider a natural and relaxing remedy.
A simple body wrap can help open the airways, soothe muscles, aid in your immune system and eliminate impurities. Plus you get some much-needed rest while supporting your body’s incredible ability to restore itself.

What you’ll need:
5 medium sized massage stones, eucalyptus oil, 2 large bowls or pans, Rosemary oil, 2 large bath towels, 2 heavy blanket, 2 flat bed sheets, skin lotion, peppermint Eucalyptus or tea tree lotion, one cup distilled water, sage, misting bottle, soft pillow.

Aromatic Steam:
Fill a bowl with massage stones and dispense five drops, eucalyptus essential oils into it. Place the bowl on a shelf in or on the floor of the shower, away from the direct stream of water. Let the hot water run for a few minutes to activate the oil and build up steam. As the shower heats up fill another large bowl or pan with hot water and add three drops Rosemary essential oil. Place a bath towel in it and let it soak (you’ll use this to prepare the body wrap). Adjust the water temperature. Enter the shower, and relax for ten minutes in the warm water and scented steam.

Invigorating Hydration:
Dry off and use an upward motion while applying an invigorating skin lotion to your body to hydrate your skin and stimulate your lymphatic system. Try a peppermint Eucalyptus or tea tree lotion. To warm the lotion leave the dispenser in hot water as you’re showering. When performing lymphatic stimulation, always stroke lightly and toward the heart.

Herbal Infusion:
Soak a bath sized towel in rosemary infused water. Lay two heavy blankets out on a bed or chaise and spread a sheet over the blankets. Remove the towel from the rosemary infused water, wringing it out and laying it over the sheet. Using a solution of one cup distilled water and three drops each sage and rosemary essential oils (you may also add a sprig of fresh rosemary), lightly mist the sheets.

Resting Wrap:
Place a soft pillow where your head will rest. Lay on top of the blankets, sheet and hot towel, then wrap the sheet and both blankets tightly around the torso, legs and feet. Position the pillow comfortably behind your head and neck, making sure your feet are elevated. Rest for twenty of thirty minutes.
