Travel: Elopement Growing in Popularity

It is the 21st century and planning your marriage in an non-traditional way and getting married by way of an elopement is certainly growing in popularity. The days are gone when young couples would contemplate having a pompous and formal wedding site to make their marriage vows. And today, it is something that isn’t unforeseen; as we get increasingly busy in our hectic lives, getting time for one’s own wedding event just isn’t in the schedule. However, this doesn’t imply that you need to forget about having a dream wedding. The truth is, if you’re considering a choice of elopement, then an elopement package may be recommended.

Since the times have changed, so has the reasoning regarding marriage. The common approach to eloping by running away with the girl in the middle of the nighttime, with no need of her father’s or mother’s consent, just isn’t the only way, or let’s say the modern method of elopement. Amazingly enough, eloped marriages today will typically include mother and father of both the new bride and also the bridegroom. That might be shocking to many people. Why would anybody think so? Well, an answer lies with the financial system and also the recession, which has impacted many of the things in daily life. Money usually matters so when people find it more and more challenging to pay the bills, the only somewhat practical solution is amusingly, elopement. And besides, just what does a sizable elaborate wedding event provide? You’ll be spending the great majority of your spending budget on the wedding location whether it’s a country club or banquet hall, along with the high priced champagne and dinner for the many attendees who’ll perhaps not present themselves for any other event in your entire lifetime. As an example, how would it feel inviting your boss who you’ve always disliked, to your wedding and reception? Don’t you find it just better to go for an elopement package and not offend anyone?

Even if you’re very wealthy, with money stashed around here and there, elopement ought not turn you off at all. The idea is that elopement isn’t just the uncomfortable act of union with your loved one as it used to be, these days it’s viewed as the chance of spending some time alone with your loved one and also the closest of loved ones. Spending those blissful wedding moments with your wife to be in a chateau in France or possibly a cathedral in Italy, is bound to be imprinted in your mind for the remainder of your life. Yes, it should take arranging but don’t permit this to trouble you. Rather, seriously think about an elopement package.

If you happen to be a person having an average profile, looking for all inclusive destination weddings would also prove to be an intelligent move since it won’t only eliminate the pressure of thorough scheduling, but by deciding on a total package deal you’ll guarantee the correct selection, thus saving a great deal of your money. The package will not only include the wedding venue that you pick but can include the dressing of the bride to the lodging of the couples. It’s usually a beneficial move to look into all the elopement packages that are being presented through the various agencies available. This tactic could actually pay in the form of getting you an extra facility or two by simply comparison shopping.

Therefore it can be said that the old fashioned opinion of elopement have long faded away from our culture, so a couple who is sensible with regards to their resources, wants to lower the anxiety level which is created for the bride and groom as well as for the parents of each, have got a fantastic option of investigating elopement packages to create great memories of a big event for those concerned.

Travel: Dreams, The Cancun Resort

by Ella Patterson

Dreams Cancun is exclusively situated at the shore point known as Punta Cancun, is the only resort surrounded on three sides by the brilliant turquoise Caribbean. Before you die and go to heaven you have to visit Dreams Resort and Spa in Cancun, Mexico.

When I arrived in Cancun I was happily greeted and taken to the Dreams Resort. As I checked into the hotel I was given a glass of champagne and a cold towel to cool myself. As I look4ed around the lobby I could see and hear beauty. There was pleasant music playing, people laughing and personal attention being given to every person I saw. People had a natural smile on their face and they appeared to be relaxed and happy about being there. My daughter had come to Cancun with me and I decided this would not only be a time to let the world know about Dreams Resort, but also a time to share quality mother-daughter time.

As our checkout was completed we decided to do a mini-tour of the hotel. After a short walk we headed to our rooms. My daughter had her room and I had mine so we were completely in paradise. We didn’t even have to argue over who was going to get which bed. (smile)

Our journey of exploration began with dinner that evening — where we had a chance to meet many other guests at the hotel. We mixed and mingled for a few moments then we took a short tour of the hotel presidential suite. After a couple of cocktails we headed to a local restaurant and had a wonderful dinner with our hosts AMR.

The beaches are among the most spectacular anywhere. There’s so much there to see and do that you be being for just one more day.

Spa Experience
I took some time and experienced the Dreams Cancun Spa services and I was totally en awe of how wonderful the presentation and services are. When I first got to the spa I was taken to a room where I was evaluated for any special needs I felt that I had. I was given a tour of the spa then taken to a quiet, private and very intimate room for a facial analysis. After the facial analysis I was lead to a locker room area where I was given a robe, some slippers and a warm glass of herbal water. The young lady that was pampering me began running her fingers through my hair and massaging my temples right there in the locker room. I was in heaven. She did that for about 10 minutes then took me to a soothing room filled with sounds of running water and flowery fountains. I stayed there for about ten minutes then she came back and got me and took me to a sauna room. I was given some towels, another cup of herbal lemon drink and told to lie back and relax for about 15 minutes. After about 15 minutes I was retrieve and taken to a steam room for another 15 minutes. It was so wonderful I didn’t want to leave. She came and got me and I was taken to the room for facials. The lights were dimmed but there was this huge magnifying type glass that was placed over my face so that the dermatologist could see any flaws or special needs places on my face. She explained what my analysis had shown her and then explained to me what she need to do in order to help me. I agreed and she started her facial.

After my facial I was taken to an our door whirlpool. It was so peaceful and relaxing that I actually fell asleep upright in the whirlpool. The attendant came and got me and I was then taken to my massage room. I had a 80 minute massage on top of all the other spa amenities. I was literally in heaven. My spa experience was immaculate and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs to experience a spa retreat. Dreams is the place to do it to.

Sensuous Accommodations
Dreams provides stunning views and scores of luxury features. My room was so close to the beach that I could sit on my balcony and feel like I was in the sand. It was parallel to the dolphins so I took lots of pictures and watched other guest swim with the beaches. With all this add truly wonderful world class spa treatments and dozens of recreational, fitness and entertainment opportunities – all presented with a level of personal attention and concierge services to make you feel very special. Dreams high standards and impeccable service have been awarded special recognition by Preferred Hotels and Resorts. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed if you visit Dreams Resort and Spa in Cancun, Mexico. You’ll love the fact that everything including the luxury is included.

Traveling To Venice Italy

VENICE, ITALY: Today I’m Dreaming of Venice, Italy

By Denella Ri’chard,  October 2020

Venice….some call it the city of water, others call it the floating city. I call it, one of the most romantic cities in the world. It’s the place where I can get lost in a maze of streets around Saint Mark’s Square. It’s a place where I can let my hair fly in the wind in a speeding water taxi.  Or I can simply relax in a floating gondola and be serenaded under a full moon along the Grand Canal. History, culture, art, and magnificent cuisine, you’ll find it all in Venice.  Venice is the kind of place that touches your soul and once you’ve been there, you’ll always long to return.

I wish I could travel to Venice right now, in this moment.  It’s when you are restricted from having something, you miss it most.  COVID-19 has changed the way we travel.  We don’t have the freedom to just jump up and go any more.  There are many places where borders are still closed, flights are limited, and quarantines are imposed.  And unfortunately, Venice is not open to tourist at this moment.  However, it does not stop us from dreaming and planning to visit in 2021 and 2022.

So, once we can travel to Venice again, here are the Top 5 things I recommend you see and do:

1)  St. Mark’s Square:   This is a must!  This iconic site is the heart of Venice.  You can easily access most of the main streets from here.  Around the square you’ll find cafes, restaurants, shopping, museums and more…  It’s also a great place to people watch, interact with the friendly pigeons, and take amazing photos.  The locals recommend you visit in the early morning, around 7am.  It is most peaceful at this time and it’s not crowded.

2)  Water Taxi – This is one of the most popular ways to get around Venice.  While private water taxis can be expensive, it’s the best way to be privately chauffeured around Venice.  If you are more budget conscious, then I recommend the water bus called vaporetto.  The water bus will take you from point to point and it’s an inexpensive way to tour the Grand Canal.  You can ride the vaporetto from the lagoon through the Grand Canal, past the Rialto Bridge and on to the train station.

See the source image3) Day trip to Burano: This Venetian island town could be the most colorful place in the world, with all the houses painted in bright colors making each street look like a rainbow.  Book a walking tour with Silvia Zanella at DiscoverBurano.com and truly experience life like the locals for a day.

4)  The Doge’s Palaces – The Doge’s Palace is a palace built in Venetian Gothic style, and one of the main landmarks of the city of Venice in northern Italy. The palace was the residence of the Doge of Venice, the supreme authority of the former Venetian Republic. It was founded in 1340 and extended and modified in the following centuries. It became a museum in 1923 and is one of the 11 museums run by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia.A visit to this famous museum is a must.  The architecture is beautiful Venetian Gothic style.  You’ll be amazed with the history of the palace, its famous art, and the magnificence of its golden staircases. You can also enjoy some amazing views of Venice from here.

5)  Osteria, where the locals dine:  An osteria is a mix of a bar and restaurant. The menu is short consisting of “small bites” like local specialties such as pasta and grilled meat or fish, often served at shared tables.  You can also enjoy wine, or as the locals call it an “ombra de vin”.  (Ombra means a small glass of wine to be shared with a friend or consumed in an osteria.)

So, as you dream about Venice and start planning your travel for 2021 and 2022, I highly recommend you contact a professional travel advisor to get the latest travel advisories.  At the time of writing this article, according to Italian Government: Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation,  Americans traveling to/from are only allowed for precise reasons, such as work, health or study reasons, absolute urgency, return to home, home, or residence.  Travel for tourism is not allowed, at this time. The return to Italy is permitted to Italian/EU/Schengen citizens and their family members, as well as holders of residence permits and their family members with conditions such as fiduciary isolation and healthy surveillance.

The goal of Traveling with Denella is to keep the audience dreaming about the joys of travel, as we work through the COVID 19 period. Those in the tourist and hospitality industries need our support by traveling and patronizing local tourist businesses as keen measures and protocols are put into place to keep us all safe. Traveling with Denella is a great vehicle to help spotlight travel and remind us that the world is still out there waiting on us to explore, enjoy and indulge.

Traveling With Denella

It’s not unusual for me to sit around dreaming about my next vacation. I’m a self-declared travel gypsy. I’ve visited so many wonderful countries, I sometimes  lose count. I’ve taken breaks to live, study and work in Africa and Europe; and oh yeah…Eat, Pray and Love there too!

Today, I sit in my self-imposed quarantine dreaming about my next trip in this crazy different COVID world. I survey my list of dwindling places left that will still allow Americans with open arms; and then I quickly become depressed. So much of the world has closed their borders to us; and I guess with good reason. I asked my Facebook friends, if they were President or Prime Minister of a country, would they allow Americans in. Their answer was a unanimous “NO”. That’s coming from my American posse, and oh yeah, even my Canadian cousin!

Now that’s a pretty sad reality, when even our own people (fellow American’s) said “don’t let Americans in”! We have to put our heads together and somehow fix this, so we can proudly roam this planet again and be welcomed with open arms.

So, I try to do my part and encourage my friends and family to do the same. I sacrifice my southern hospitality, continue to try to stay at home, social distance, wear my mask, and I even added a few COVID-19 pounds (OK actually a horrible 8 extra pounds!). I remain upbeat and hopeful in knowing that one day the borders will open again. One day airplanes will be full again. Hotels will be bustling with families touting “sold out”; and cruise ships will sail at full capacity to destinations around the world. Is this dreaming, or is this wishful thinking of a time gone by?

So as our government leaders, the CDC, the WHO, medical professionals and pharmaceutical companies figure all this crazy COVID stuff out, I am going to keep on dreaming. I’m still planning my trips to more places on my bucket list. When we can safely travel with peace of mind again, I want to be ready.

There are so many countries that will need our support, our visits, and our tourism dollars to recover. There will be so many people who will be grateful and happy to see us again. Ray Charles sang “Georgia on my mind”. But I’m singing “I’ve got Cape Town, South Africa on my mind”.

For now, stay safe, and stay healthy…until we roam free again…Denella.
